Francine Diaz considers ABS-CBN as her home, says she will not leave

During the media conference of ABS-CBN’s “Kapamilya Strong” on Friday, February 26, with the network’s warm welcome to the artists who inked their contract is a question.

A question as to why they stayed with ABS-CBN despite its downfall.

It can be recalled last year, the network lost its franchise after the government ceased its operation due to alleged violations. With the pandemic as well as the shutdown, an exodus of talents have transferred to other networks.

Young actress Francine Diaz who recently signed with the network shared why she did not leave despite receiving numerous offers.

The reason is that the network is not just a company but more than that. For Francine, ABS-CBN is her family. She stayed because it’s her home.

“May mga nag-offer po pero choice ko rin po na mag-stay dito. Kasi para po sakin, pamilya ko na po ‘to eh. Hindi lang siya basta company or network. Hindi porke’t mataas ang ABS dito ako mag-stay. Nag-stay po ako dahil ito ‘yung family ko, ito po ‘yung tahanan ko,” she said.

With that being said, the media was curious if, without her Gold Squad, she is not ‘Kapamilya strong’. However, she stressed that as a squad, they are Kapamilya strong already.

“Sa tingin ko po hindi naman kailangan na without my squad para maging Kapamilya Strong. Kasi kami po as one, talagang Kapamilya Strong kami,” Francine said.

Meanwhile, not only the young actress has shown her versatility as an actress, but she also shared that she’s open to new roles. As long as it’s appropriate to her age, she’s down to a character, far from her role in “Kadenang Ginto.”

“Ako po, open naman po ako sa mga bagong character. At kung malayo man po siya kay Cassie, basta po yung nasa edad ko pa rin po, hindi masyadong mature. Syempre ready po ako sa mga ganun. Sobrang open po ako,” she said.

The reason is that she does not back down from a challenge. And with a new role, she’ll be challenged, giving her more room to explore and grow as an artist.

“Kasi gusto ko po may challenge minsan eh. Nakakapag-explore ako bilang artista,” Francine added.

Joining Francine Diaz during the media conference are fellow artists Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Donny Pangilinan, Arjo Atayde, and Gary Valenciano who also signed new contracts with ABS-CBN.
