GMA Artist Center will soon change its name to Sparkle

GMA Artist Center, the talent management arm of GMA Network Inc., revealed that it would soon change its name to Sparkle in a teaser released on Thursday, December 23.

The animated video clip showed the word “sparkle” surrounded by shimmering stars.

“Something’s going to shine before this year ends!” said the caption. “Sparks will fly!”

The unveiling of its new name will happen during the Kapuso Countdown to 2022 on December 31, 2021, at 10:30 p.m.

Johnny Manahan or Mr. M has been the new consultant of GMA Artist Center since July 2021.

Jeric Gonzales, Julie Anne San Jose, Sanya Lopez, Jak Roberto, Ken Chan, Gabbi Garcia, and Kahlil Ramos are among the contract artists of GMA Artist Center or soon-to-be Sparkle.

GMA Artist Center was founded in 1995. Veteran talent manager Wyngard Tracy originally headed it until 2000. When Felipe Gozon took over as GMA Network’s President and CEO in 2000, the Artist Center was placed under the network’s Entertainment Division led by Wilma Galvante. 2003, GMAAC hired Ida Henares as their newest head. Under her leadership, GMAAC launched the reality artista searched Starstruck, which became the main launching pad for most star hopefuls since then.

On July 13, 2021, former Star Magic Chairman Johnny Manahan signed up as a GMAAC consultant. On September 5, 2021, GMAAC organized Signed for Stardom, a digital multi-platform event where current and new talents were signed up and introduced to the public.
