Maureen Wroblewitz, excited to work with Kapuso artists in their international movie
Asia Next Top Model Season 5 winner and actress Maureen Wroblewitz expressed her excitement working with Kapuso artists such as Thea Tolentino and Boobay.
During the media conference for Take Me To Banaue, Wroblewitz said she is open to working with Kapuso artists even if she’s a Kapamilya.
“I’m very open to that. We’re all incredible actors, and I’m very excited to be working with– I don’t think we have a scene yet, actually, but we’ll definitely see each other on set. So yeah, I’m very excited and very blessed to be part of the cast.”
As for the international movie, Wroblewitz admitted that she encountered difficulties learning the script because of the Tuwali dialects and Tagalog lines.
“Yes, I have been having a little hard time, but I’m very confident that I can manage. I will be seeing my dialect coach in person–I think that would be helpful.
“She’s actually going to play my mom, so we can run lines together, and she will–we will be working on my accent. I want to make it as authentic as possible because I don’t want it to come across as disrespectful because it is a beautiful dialect, and I want to give it justice.”
She then added that her role requires her to put on an accent to her English-speaking language.
“So this role is actually very challenging. Because I would not only need to learn Tuwali, which is the dialect, I will also have to put in an accent to my English.
“Also, in my Tagalog–I’m still learning my Tagalog, so being able to speak the language and put in an accent to it–would definitely be very challenging. But I like the challenge, and I’m very excited.”
As for her portrayal, Wroblewitz shared how she plans to build chemistry with her co-star Brandon Melo.
“Yesterday, we spent a few hours preparing our lines, really getting to know each other as well. It’s really/ important not just to build chemistry between Grace and Hank, but between the two of us. Understand how we work on set and what to expect.
“And we were able to discuss that, especially yesterday. There is a lot of that, and we’re doing a lot of techniques also further than that, and yeah, I’m confident that we’ll be able to show that chemistry on-screen.”
Take Me To Banaue includes a mix of International actors Brandon Melo and Dylan Rogers alongside local artists Maureen Wroblewitz, Thea Tolentino, and Boobay.
