“Actually hindi talaga ako dapat kasama. And then one night, I got a call, and this is in the span of 24 hours ha, I got a call from Mamu saying na, “wait, baka magulat ka kasi kasama ka sa storycon.” So right there and then, I thought, maybe it is “meant to be for me” talaga. And, you know, I’ve been committed to my job for how many years now.”
As for the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic, she revealed that her family fears for her safety. However, she remained committed since ABS-CBN assured her and the staff of their well-being while on set.
“Actually, if it were up to my mom, my family, takot talaga sila, but, sabi ko, you know, there’s another side of me who’s always committed a 101% and even a 500% to what is /given to me. Kaya sabi ko, may assurance naman na pag-aalaga ng staff. And I’ve done this is my second show experience nung of taping in the pandemic after A Soldier’s Heart. So, how could you say no to such a blessing?”
Valdez recounted her COVID-19 encounter, initially fearing for her safety. However, she realized how their sacrifice helped people all over the world.
“I mean, I’m one of the COVID-19 survivors of the show. In the middle of that all, my fear nagkaroon ako ng takot na ano kaya ang mangyayari pag bumalik ulit ako sa trabaho. But no, I realized you are a blessing to others para ibigay mo yung sarili mo. Di ba, yung sakripisyo, hindi mo alam na may napapasaya ka palang mga tao, all over the world watching your show so, no, I’m really a person who does not regret anything.”
Valdez is one of the Kapamilya actresses who remained loyal to the network. She also vocally expressed her support to ABS-CBN on social media.
