YSL Beige Instinct (304) The Slim Velvet Radical Matte Lipstick ($39.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a dusty, medium coral with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was smooth, velvety, and denser without being too firm, so the lipstick still applied in a single stroke without tugging. It had opaque color payoff in one layer, which applied evenly to my lips and didn’t settle noticeably (in person) in my lip lines. It wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have “full coverage” with “long-lasting semi-matte color” that has “creamy comfort.” They were very pigmented with a moderately dense, velvety consistency that was creamy without sliding around. The substance/density of the product helped the product sit more smoothly on my lips and helped them be less prone to emphasizing lip texture and settling into my lip lines.

The lipsticks were comfortable to apply, and while the diamond-shaped lipstick was unusual, I did not find it difficult to work with. Most shades lasted at least five hours with some shades lasting six to seven hours with some staining behind. The formula felt lightly hydrating over time. They had a fruity, floral scent but no discernible taste.

It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, more velvety consistency that was dense but not firm or stiff in the tube, so it glided across my lips comfortably. It lasted nicely for six hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.
