Sweet toothed folks with dietary requirements, the folks at Nutie has you covered. The crew is currently keeping both the Balmain and Surry Hills spots open for takeaway so Sydneysiders can continue to get their sugar fix. They’re all 100-percent gluten-free, resulting in a slightly denser, cake-like treat (and this is not a bad thing). There are also gluten-free cookies, muffins slices and cakes on offer with plenty of dairy-free and vegan options, too.

Black Star Pastry is most famous for their Strawberry Watermelon Cake featuring almond dacquoise, rose-scented cream and fresh watermelon that has been macerated in rosewater for hours, all strewn with strawberries, pistachios and dried rose petals—and it takes a whole day to make.

Along with this glorious creation, they offer a range of other iconic cakes. From Raspberry Lychee Cake, Dragon Cake, Pistachio Lemon Zen Cake, Black Sesame and Yuzu Cake to their Orange cake with Persian Figs. Visit their website for details on which stores are open in Sydney and in Melbourne.

Whatever your decision, indulge yourself, share with others, and whatever you do this World Chocolate Day.
