2 Chinese arrested for illegal detention in Makati

POLICE arrested two Chinese in Makati City for alleged illegal detention of a fellow Chinese on Thursday, authorities said.

A report from the Southern Police District (SPD) late Thursday identified the suspects as Hong Yang, 38, and Shuangling Hu, 33, both employed as Mandarin customer service representatives.

The victim was Tang Fei, 27, female.

Based on the report, the two were collared in a condominium at Barrio Visaya St., Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo around noon on Thursday.

The rescue operations stemmed from the complaint of the victims’ friends identified as Leon Ho Kah Fai, and Shi Yu Ting who sought police assistance after finding out that she was detained and handcuffed inside her own room by the suspects.

Police said the suspects allegedly demanded 560,000 Chinese Yuan or around P3.9 million in exchange for the victim’s release.

The arrested suspects are detained at the Makati Police Station for filling of appropriate charges in court.
