2 Malolos police nabbed for robbery-extortion

Two policemen and their accomplices were arrested over robbery-extortion in Malolos, Bulacan, the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) reported on Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee, PNP-IMEG chief, in a report, identified the suspects as Senior Master Sergeant Vic Godwin Lajom and Patrolman Jay Mark Tuazon.

Both were assigned in the Malolos City Police-Community Precinct 5.

Also arrested were their civilian accomplices identified as Wendell Mendoza and Kenneth Villena, the report added.

Based on the report, the four were arrested inside the Malolos City Police Community Precinct (PCP) 5 at 12:30 p.m. on Monday in an entrapment operation.

Several complaints were received against the suspect who was accused of protecting a racket in the area “where they demand money from tricycle drivers and traffic violators in exchange for the nullification of their traffic citation tickets,” Lee said.

Moreover, the suspects were brought at the PNP-IMEG headquarters in Camp Crame for booking and filing of criminal charges for robbery-extortion.
