ABOUT 200 beneficiaries will receive ₱10,000 financial assistance in time for Labor Day on Saturday, said Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano.
Cayetano, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, said beneficiaries will include the poor and the vulnerable sector in 13 cities and provinces under the “Sampung Libong Pag-Asa” initiative. These include Quezon City, Taguig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Caloocan, Pateros, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Camarines Sur, Sta. Rosa in Laguna, Antipolo in Rizal, and Ormoc in Leyte.
Other lawmakers who will distribute the cash aid include Taguig City 2nd District Rep. Ma. Laarni Cayetano, Camarines Sur 2nd District Rep. Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte, Batangas 2nd District Rep. Raneo Abu, Laguna 1st District Rep. Dan Fernandez, Bulacan 1st District Rep. Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado, and Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor.
They were also among the members of Congress who joined the call for the “10K Ayuda Bill,” which is still pending deliberations at the House Committee on Economic Affairs.
A total of 38 beneficiaries have so far received ₱10,000 cash assistance from Pasig, Caloocan, Quezon City, and Cavite, according to Cayetano. The initiative is part of the lawmakers’ efforts to provide relief to affected individuals and families amid the pandemic.
