BANGUED, Abra, Feb. 20(PIA) — The Provincial Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) Vaccination Task Force is preparing the municipal local government units and their respective Vaccination Information Management System (VIMS) teams for the Covid-19 vaccination roll out.
The Provincial Anti-Covid19 Task Force and Covid-19 Vaccination TF headed by Governor Joy Bernos recently convened a meeting with the LGUs about the vaccination rollout.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Maria Cristina Cabrera stressed the important role of the LGUs in getting the cooperation of all Abrenians on this immunization.
National Immunization Program Coordinator Maryjune Algarne presented the flow of vaccination activity from the process of getting vaccination to the registration up to the post vaccination monitoring. She also discussed the cold chain management of the vaccination which gave the participants proper information about the proper handling and storage of the vaccines.
Each LGU has already its own staff who are trained on cold chain management for the proper transportation and storage of the Covid-19 vaccines.
Vaccination simulation exercises are also set in the municipality of Bangued and San Quintin by the end of February. Cabrera directed all RHUs to send their staff to observe the simulation exercises.
The task force reported that a total of 5,141 frontline health workers in the province are among the priority to get vaccinated. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
