TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Jan. 14 (PIA) – – The Cagayan State University (CSU), in partnership with various government agencies, has formally opened the Startup Week 2021 Conference in Cagayan Valley region yesterday.
University President Urdujah G. Alvarado said the conference aims to strengthen local startup community and showcase the growing startup ecosystem.
She said anyone who wants to start a business venture may be assisted through the collaboration of various agencies to include the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, Department Information and Communications Technology and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“With the drastic change in the world today, it is not to enough to stick with the same rules that we know about building startups. We need to think outside the box and explore new possibilities,” Alvarado said.
She further explained that the conference aims to increase awareness of startup community on the outlook and existing policies for the innovations, as well as present numerous and significant opportunities in the new normal setting.
The forum will also present good practices of successful business players who have ventured with the assistance of the Start-Up program of the government.
The CSU president also presented the Business Incubation Zone for Novel and Sustainable Enterprises (BizNEST) which offers research and development services, provides investment and financing linkages, technical consultancy and advisory to those who are starting business opportunities.
The officials believe that aside from boosting the potential industries in the region and making local entrepreneurs competitive to the global market, the startup program will eventually help boost Cagayan Valley’s economy. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
