DOH confirms 8 new COVID-19 positive cases 

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, July 19 (PIA) – – There are eight additional fresh cases of COVID-2019 today, Department of Health (DOH) region 2 confirmed.

Llexter Guzman, health education and promotions officer, said three of the new cases were from Isabela, two in Cagayan, two in Nueva Vizcaya and one from the National Capital Region (NCR).

He said CV 212 is a 29-year-old female from Santiago City, Isabela. She is a Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) who had a travel history in Antipolo City. She is asymptomatic and now at the city government’s quarantine facility.

CV 213 is a 26-year-old male from Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. He has a travel history in Manila twice in which his first swab test last June 22 tested negative but his swab test result on July 15 confirmed his positive for COVID-19. Both tests were conducted in Manila. He is on home quarantine.

The third case is a 41-year-old male from Quezon City who traveled to Santa Ana, Cagayan for an official business. He is asymptomatic and now at quarantine facility in Tuguegarao City.

CV 214 is 40-year-old male from Bagabag Nueva Vizcaya, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Qatar. He is asymptomatic and now at the LGU’s quarantine facility.

CV 215, a 27-year-old male, and CV 216, a 23-year-old male, are both from Iguig, Cagayan. They have travel history in Quezon City and known to have an exposure to CV 206. They are both asymptomatic and on home quarantine.

CV 217 is 32-year-old male from Cauayan City, Isabela, an OFW from Kuwait. She is asymptomatic and now at the city’s quarantine facility.

CV 218 is a 29-year-old male from Jones, Isabela who had a travel history in Laguna. He is asymptomatic and now at the LGU’s quarantine facility.

Guzman said contact tracing is now being conducted by the concerned authorities to determine the close contacts of the newly tested positive cases.

As of now, there are already 219 cases declared by DOH 2, of which 213 are recorded in Cagayan Valley region and six for NCR. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
