BULALACAO, Oriental Mindoro, Jan. 21 (PIA) — A total of 142 beneficiaries of housing materials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) underwent social preparation and orientation in the recent meeting conducted by the local government in this town.
The housing materials worth P30,000 for each beneficiary are intended for families whose houses were totally damaged by calamities last year. Specifically, recipients of this financial assistance are families from Brgys. Cambunang, Campaasan, Maujao, Nasucob and Poblacion.
According to the report of Bulalacao Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the 142 beneficiaries are part of the 221 identified beneficiaries out of the 843 eligible and validated families whose houses were totally damaged by recent calamities.
Only 221 beneficiaries were funded by the government and they were the first batch to receive financial assistance. However, the local government of Bulalacao continues to coordinate with DSWD for the funding of the remaining 622 eligible recipients of the program.
Mayor Ernilo C. Villas said that aside from the P30,000 worth of housing materials, the beneficiaries will also receive additional cash for work amounting to P2,400 each. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
