Gov Catamco optimistic to start housing program this year

KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato, April 22 (PIA)– Governor Nancy Catamco of this province is positive that deserving residents will be able to avail of a housing program this year.

Catamco expressed optimistic following the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected officers of the Provincial Federation of Homeowners Association (HOA).

“With your help and cooperation and our partners in this endeavor, with all our concerted efforts, I know that our dream to provide home to the homeless will surely be realized in our province,” the governor told the elected officers adding that it is her dream to provide her constituents affordable and decent houses.

The provincial chief executive also asked the commitment of Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) XII Regional Director Jennifer Bretaña and National Housing Authority (NHA) XII Regional Manager Zenaida Cabiles in the immediate realization of the program. As their response, the two regional heads expressed support to the endeavor.

Before the oath taking ceremony, the Provincial Socialized Housing Program-Technical Working Group conducted a capacity building activity for the HOA officers.

The participants were also equipped with information on the mandates of the DHSUD, Magna Carta for Homeowners and Homeowners Association, Community Empowerment and Participation through HOA Federation, NHA Housing Programs, and Socialized Housing Finance Corporation Program.

Meanwhile, elected officers of the Provincial Federation of Homeowners Association include Maricel Cedeno of Leyminda Homeowners-Kidapawan as president, Ricky Andea of Tulunan as vice-president, John Kevin Avelino of M’lang as secretary, Melissa Biscarra of Matalam as treasurer, and Allan Dela Pena of Kabacan as auditor.

On the other hand, the association’s board of directors are Ariel Lago of Tulunan, Paul Ngalis of Libungan, Melecio Apinaldo of Matalam, and Mamerio Aguanan of Makilala. (With reports from PGO-Media and PGO-IDCD)
