House panel adopts resolution to include athletes in vaccine priority list
A committee of the House of Representatives adopted a resolution urging the government to include athletes who will compete in the Olympics and the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the priority list of individuals who will be given vaccines for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The Committee on Youth and Sports Development adopted the resolution on Tuesday.
“I thank our esteemed colleagues in the committee…for sharing my vision and supporting my goal of helping our Olympians bring home the country’s first Olympic gold despite the challenges they face during this pandemic,” Deputy Speaker and 1-Pacman Party-list Rep. Michael Romero said.
The Olympics will be held in Japan from July 23 to August 8 while the SEA Games will be held in Vietnam from November 21 to December 2.
