Ifugao town, barangay on lockdown for contact tracing
BANAUE, Ifugao, Jan. 14 (PIA) – – Contact tracing activities are underway to contacts of the new 19 Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) confirmed cases in four municipalities in the province.
In Banaue, Mayor John Raymund Wesley Dulawan placed the entire municipality under lockdown at 6:00pm of January 13 until midnight of January 17, 2021 to allow the personnel of the rural health unit to identify and test direct contacts of the two COVID-19 patients.

Movements of people outside of their residences and travel in and out of Banaue are restricted only for essential purposes like food, medicine and health reasons.
The municipal offices are also closed on January 14-15 as a precaution due to exposure of some employees to the said patients.
In Asipulo, Mayor Armando Domilod also ordered a localized lockdown over barangay Haliap from January 13 to 16, 2021 to facilitate efficient and effective contact tracing. Two of the positive cases are residents of said barangay.
The municipalities of Kiangan and Lagawe recorded 12 and three COVID-19 cases respectively on January 13. Two of the Lagawe cases are direct contacts of the previous confirmed case while the other one is a locally stranded individual from outside the municipality.
Ten jail officers of the Bureau of Jail and Management Penology are among the 12 confirmed cases of Kiangan while two are residents of Hucab and Munggayang. Contact tracing, swabbing and assessment are underway.
As of January 13, 2021, the province recorded a total of 160 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 128 recoveries, 32 active cases and one death. There are also 787 possible cases on quarantine provincewide. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
