LGU hires COVID- recovered frontliner to permanent status
MANKAYAN, Benguet, June 29(PIA) — A 23-year old frontliner from this town who recently recovered from the COVID-19 will be given permanent position in the municipal government.
Mayor Frenzel Ayong said Glory Galino will be hired by the local government as Midwife Officer 1 with Salary Grade 9 with permanent employment status..This is in recognition of her efforts and sacrifices as a member of the municipal health team assigned at the Balili Health Station during the community quarantine.
Ayong announced during the send-off ceremony for the 11 newly recovered COVID-19 patients that included Galino. at the Benguet General Hospital on June 25.
Galino tested positive for COVID-19 last June 12 following the expanded mass testing for frontliners in the Cordillera region. She was the first case for the town of Mankayan.
She worked as a job order staff assigned at the Atayan, Balili Health Station issuing health declaration forms to travellers during the community quarantine.. She has no travel history outside the municipality.
Galino agreed to reveal her identity for faster contact tracing. Fortunately, her close contacts all tested negative.(KDP/PIA CAR)
