Mandaue routs Tabogon; Dumaguete bags 1st Super Cup win

KCS Computer Specialist’s balanced attack proved to be too much for the Voyagers.

Former Southwestern University-Phinma Cobra Dyll Roncal played his best game as a pro and led Mandaue City’s scoring onslaught with 15 points, seven boards, three dimes and one steal while court general Joseph Nalos flashed his all-around brilliance with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block.

Red Cachuela chipped in 10 points, six boards, two steals with one block, and Gileant Delator added 10 points, three rebounds, one steal and a block.

KCS Computer Specialist dominated the game from the get-go with a 22-13 edge in the first canto. The lead ballooned to as much as 33 points in the final quarter.

Mandaue City tallied its third win against one loss while Tabogon dropped to a 1-2 slate.

Arvie Bringas was the lone Tabogon player to reach double-figures with 12 points.

Meanwhile, the Dumaguete City Warriors finally barged into the win column after beating the Tubigon Bohol Mariners, 88-73, in the main game of Friday’s doubleheader.

Jerick Nacpil, former Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. Most Valuable Player Jaybie Mantilla and James Earl Regalado connived for 66 points to lead the Warriors to its first win after three outings.

Nacpil exploded for a game-high 27 points on top of six boards, two dimes and a couple of blocks. Mantilla was equally impressive with 21 markers, six rebounds, three assists and two steals while Regalado chipped in 18 markers, four rebounds and five assists.

Falling to a 0-4 haul, the Mariners got 23 points each from big man Abubakar Dadjijul and shooting guard Joseph Marquez.
