MIDSAYAP, Cotabato Province, Oct. 18 (PIA)– The local government unit here, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), continues to be of service to the people through its various project implementation amid the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019.
On Wednesday, October 14, the MSWDO led the Leadership Forum and Orientation on the New Normal participated by 50 solo parents in the municipality. The activity was part of the Life and Service Month celebration of the office. Aside from equipping them with information beneficial to them, each participant also received rice pack, face mask, and hygiene kit.
The MSWDO aslo distributed, on the same day, free learning and hygiene kits to day care children in the town.
MWSD officer John Karlo Ballentes said, MSWDO targets 2,600 day care children from 97 day care centers to be given said materials to aid in their home schooling. Fund used for this project was taken from the Local Council for the Protection of Children.
“It is our continuing commitment to make sure our day care children are invested with the right tools for learning in the new normal,” Ballentes emphasized.
Also, the MSWDO has started the distribution of learning materials, sports equipment, materials for indoor games, and musical instruments to teen centers in the municipality. For this month, beneficiary teen centers include those in Poblacion 2, Agriculture, Upper Glad 1, Rangaban, and Malamote.
The facilities are provided by the barangays as their counterpart while the equipment are funded by the LGU. This is to further develop the capacity and abilities of the youth as future agents of development. (PIA Cotabato Province)
