ILOILO CITY, April 30 (PIA) – – As of noontime of April 30, some 6,097 local job opportunities await job seekers in Western Visayas who will be participating in the online jobs fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 6 for the Labor Day celebration on Saturday, May 1.
DOLE 6 Information Officer John Mandario, during an interview over PIA Kapihan radio program on April 30, said the job vacancies were provided by 35 companies that have responded to the agency’s call to join the virtual registration for employers as part of “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair.”
Mandario said some of the local jobs up for grabs are for customer service representatives, construction workers, IT experts, encoders, instructors, customer relations specialist, engineers, chemists and drivers, and from business process outsourcing, among others.
So far around 5,224 applicants have already registered for the jobs fair which according to Mandario is still ongoing. Interested may register for free via https://www.mynimo.com/dole6applicants.
He is also inviting the public to join in the other activities lined up by DOLE 6 for this year’s Labor Day celebration with theme “Mayo Uno sa Bagong Panahon – Manggagawa at Mamamayan Babangon, Susulong!”
These activities include webinars on topics such as Adaptability Quotient in the Workplace, DOLE Department Order No. 224 that provides guidelines on ventilation for workplaces, How to Start a Business and DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program which can be accessed through DOLE Region 6 Facebook page.
Mandario said a livelihood display opened on today at the La Tienda Provincia at the Smallville in Mandurriao district. This is in partnership with the agriculture cooperatives and will run until Sunday, May 2. (JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo)
