PACC, Truth and Justice Coalition bring pandemic relief to metro residents
CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 24 (PIA) — In the spirit of bayanihan, compassion and solidarity, the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), together with the Truth and Justice Coalition, initiated relief assistance efforts by providing food packs and other essentials to hundreds of Metro Manila families to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today we personally sent help with the Truth and Justice Coalition to our countrymen in Malabon and Navotas City. We brought rice, canned goods, noodles, face shields, and face masks,” PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica told beneficiaries belonging to low-income earners and left with no choice but to continue working despite the coronavirus threat.
Belgica said the ongoing outreach activity is one way of expressing that the government cares for its citizens, and is one with the plight of those who need most in life during these difficult times.
“We hope we can somehow offer relief and comfort to our beneficiaries,” he added, stressing that despite the challenges brought by the public health emergency, the Duterte government continues its campaign against criminality and corruption.
“Delivering help includes our ongoing government and the President’s campaign to fight against corruption. We are also with our police [Philippine National Police] who sent a message to anti-criminality, the PDEA [Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency] who spoke about the bad effects of drugs, and our AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines] who gave a lecture on anti-terrorism,” he said.
Belgica said the group also distributed relief to those affected by the recent chemical spill incident in Navotas City.
“We are also with the staff of DSWD who delivered additional relief packs for the victims of chemical leak that happened last week in Navotas. We are also thankful to our donor today who delivered packed meals and water for our countrymen,” he said.
“Always remember that we are here, the government, our hardworking Senator Bong Go, and our Dear President Rody Duterte ready to guide and support you because we love you, We love our fellow people Filipinos,” he added.
To recall, the PACC spearheads the conduct of anti-drugs forum by PDEA and anti-terrorism forum by the AFP to further promote President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs, criminality, corruption and terrorism.
The group has since visited the cities of Navotas, Malabon, and Manila. (PIA NCR)
