CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 19 (PIA) — The Pateros Municipal Government has expressed readiness to implement its COVID-19 vaccination program to benefit residents, its local chief executive said on Friday .

“We have identified four vaccination sites including the AMC gym, Pateros Catholic School, Agripino Manalo National High School, and Capt. Hipolito Francisco Elementary School that will run from Mondays to Fridays,” Mayor Ike Ponce said in his presentation during the visit of the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team of the National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 and the Inter-Agency Task for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Mayor Ponce added that there will be satellite vaccination sites in Lexington Clubhouse and in East Mansion Clubhouse during Saturdays and Sundays.

“The eligible population that we intend to vaccinate is around 52,000 residents and now our target is at least 1,000 vaccinees per day,” Ponce said.

Around 5,000 Pateros residents will receive vaccines per week with a total of 20,000 residents per month.

“Hindi po kami nagmamadali dahil alam namin na unti unti talaga ang dapat gagawin natin dito. Our people are just starting to realize that the vaccines are safe and a pressing need to get vaccinated, that is why dahan dahan po ang gagawin natin implementation dito,” Ponce said.

Pateros LGU cited that they can finish the vaccine doses within six months.

“We are confident that we can finish the first doses of vaccines on the first half of March. And we can complete the second and third doses between five to six months,” Ponce said.

He emphasized that they currently prepared COVID-19 vaccination monitoring book, and a QR code for COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration that is placed strategically in various areas in Pateros.

The municipality of Pateros reports 79 percent of its residents are willing to be vaccinated based on their initial survey online with 550 participants. (PIA-NCR)
