PH Army, Foodpanda deliver food aid to COVID-19 responders, frontliners

PASIG CITY, June 29 (PIA) — The Philippine Army and mobile food delivery marketplace Foodpanda Philippines provided food assistance to a number of COVID-19 response teams and frontline workers in some parts of Metro Manila amid the pandemic. 

According to Philippine Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon P. Zagala, the food packs preapred were distributed to street sweepers, garbage collectors, waste management teams, and local government units’ COVID-19 frontliners in Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, and Taguig City.

Zagala also expressed his gratitude to the Foodpanda company for its kind donation.

The Philippine Army is thankful to Foodpanda, as well as other groups who are actively taking part in responding to the problems we face because of this pandemic,” said Zagala.

He added that the Philippine Army welcomes other private groups and individuals who may

want to join in these activities. 

Army personnel facilitated the hauling, repacking and delivery of some 2,000 bags of relief goods from Foodpanda.

Each bag contains 3 kilos of rice, noodles, canned goods, coffee sachets, and cooking oil.

Singer, actor and Army Reservist 2nd Lt. Ronnie Liang also extended a helping hand during the distribution of goods.

To recall, Foodpanda has earlier conducted other massive food donation campaigns in various parts of the world to benefit the needy. (PIA-NCR)
