THE Philippines registered 2,240 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases on Saturday, its highest in nearly a month, according to the Department of Health (DoH).
The highest number of infections registered so far was 2,245 on January 27.
Total active cases are at 34,100, of which more than 95 percent are either mild, moderate, or asymptomatic while the rest are severe or critical.
There are 513,120 recoveries, including 504 new survivors while 239 more people died, raising the toll to 12,068.
Of the 24,165 samples tested, 1,652 were positive for a positivity rate of 6.8 percent.
Across the globe, coronavirus cases are at 110.7 million, with 2.45 million dead.
