PRO6 warns personnel against NPA assassination plot

ILOILO CITY, Jan. 8 (PIA) – – The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 reminded its personnel to be extra vigilant after receiving information that Kilusang Rehiyon-Panay (KR-Panay) is planning to conduct atrocities targeting PNP camp or station, vital installations and identified uniformed personnel at any opportune time.

There are reports that the planned retaliation is to avenge their comrades who died in police operation after putting up a fight against the police officers who simultaneously served the search warrants on December 30, 2020.

“The CPP-NPA will not let it pass. The police operation will affect their entire organization since majority of the neutralized are their strong supporters,” said PRO 6 Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda in an agency’s press report.

He added “it is the CPP-NPA who is actually spreading the culture of violence.”

PRO 6 further reminded its personnel to strengthen their station or camp to pre-empt untoward incidents.

It also appealed to the general public to notify them of the presence of suspicious person/s roaming near the stations and camps and encouraged them as well to report individuals who are asking about personal details or activities of the PNP personnel.

“We should protect each other,” said Miranda, adding “Hindi po kami ang kalaban ninyo dito…ang mga CPP-NPA po.”

“Beware, the real murderers and assassins are on the loose,” said PRO6 spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong in a recent RTF-ELCAC press conference at Camp Delgado.

Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairperson Jose Maria Sison issued a statement regarding the deployment of the Special Partisan Armed Unit (SPARU) in urban areas and town centers on December 26.

SPARUs are known as assassins and murderers who kill government troops, informants, indigenous people and unarmed civilians. They are responsible for the loss of many lives in the past. (RPIO/JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo)
