Report errors in modules to ‘Error Watch’ not on social media-Sec. Briones
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Feb. 17 (PIA) – – The Department of Education (DepEd) has urged parents to report to the “Error Watch” the erroneous contents of students’ modules for immediate action.
Secretary Leonor Briones, in a virtual press conference with Cagayan Valley media, said there are many reports raised in different parts of the country regarding some errors indicated in the modules that were printed and distributed to the schoolchildren.
She added that there are also contents of some modules that are discriminatory and sensitive to cultures and sectors.
For its part, the Secretary said the department has already launched efforts to deal with the errors in the modules, including the Error Watch platform and engaging with third-party experts and volunteers from the academe as SLM “conformance reviewers.”
“Please help us trace these [errors]. Report them immediately to our established ‘Error watch’ for us to determine the source of these erroneous modules because there are modules that did not emanate from DepEd,” Briones said.
The Error Watch initiative is the department’s response to numerous reports about errors found in the learning materials. Its task is to receive and collate reports of errors and to forward these to the appropriate offices for validation and correction.
She added that the “Error Watch” initiative is the process platform to address the issues and concerns on the contents of the modules instead of posting them on social media.
The concerns maybe reported through email by sending it to [email protected]; via text and viber message through 09616805334; through Facebook Messenger: DepEd Error Watch (@depederrorwatch), and through Workchat DepEd Error Watch. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
