‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ cast catches up with Seth Meyers right after the series finale

~ BINGPOT! ~

Well folks, though it faced an impossible task this season, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine series finale has rolled. That’s it, no more Halloween heists.

The cast — Andy Samberg, Stephanie Beatriz, Andre Braugher, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Dirk Blocker, and Joel McKinnon Miller — and co-creator Dan Goor joined Seth Meyers on Late Night immediately after the end of Season 8 aired to chat about the series. Though Chelsea Peretti and Terry Crews couldn’t be there, they were in spirit (and in Crews’ case, in cardboard, with electronically moving pecks).

From their final table read on Zoom to Goor writing every Jake and Amy kiss as “tender” much to Samberg and Fumero’s disgust, to the show’s cancellation and resurrection through fandom, and which props they stole from the set, there was plenty to talk about. Plus, there were a couple of special theme song-based messages from Craig Robinson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Fred Armisen, and a great drop-in from Charles Boyle’s favorite, Dianne Wiest.

“I think we all really feel exceptionally proud of the work that we did this last season, with all the strange challenges…the writing challenges, the acting challenges, the crew challenges, but it felt joyful. It felt really joyful the way that we finished it,” said Beatriz.

NINE-NIIIIIIINE FOREVER!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s final season is streaming on NBC and Hulu.
