Everything you should buy from Target’s pre-Black Friday sale

UPDATE: Nov. 16, 2021, 9:05 a.m. EST This post has been updated to include new information about Target’s Black Friday plans, along with the latest deals from its current Holiday Best sale.

Target is running a series of Holiday Best sales ahead of its weeklong Black Friday event (which is from Nov. 21 to 27). Here’s what’s worth buying as of Nov. 16:

  • BEST ROBOT VACUUM DEAL: Shark AI Robot Vacuum is a WiFi-enabled cleaning machine with object avoidance technology, home mapping, and voice control — $299.99 $399.99 (save $100)

  • BEST KITCHEN DEAL: Instant Pot Duo Crisp (6 quarts) is an 11-in-1 multicooker that comes with an air-frying lid; Target’s deal beats Amazon’s pre-Black Friday pricing by $30 — $99.99 $149.99 (save $50)

  • BEST HEADPHONES DEAL: Beats Solo³ Wireless Headphones sound great and last forever (up to 40 hours per charge, to be exact) — $99.99 $199.99 (save $100)

  • BEST TOY DEAL: Disney toys and kids’ apparel are buy two, get one free — save up to $264.99

Buy one, get one half off Marvel toys; $60 off Apple Watches; $100 off a Dyson vacuum; and a partridge in a pear tree free $50 gift card when you buy an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.

That’s just a small sample of the doorbusters that will be hitting Target’s shelves (both in stores and online) when its weeklong Black Friday sale kicks off Sunday, Nov. 21, the company has revealed. Even more deals will be added to the mix on Thursday, Nov. 25, including up to 30% off TVs and 20% off select Baby Alive dolls.

You don’t have to wait until then to shop some of the season’s best doorbusters, though. Like all major retailers, Target is previewing a selection of Black Friday offers on its website all month long as part of a series of Holiday Best sales. (The third one is live now through Saturday, Nov. 20, FYI.)

Why the early start? You can thank the combined forces of a continuing pandemic, serious supply chain shortages, and off-the-charts spending; they’re making for an especially hectic shopping season this year. If you’re looking to buy popular items (think AirPods, air fryers, smart home gadgets, and more), you’re not the only one. If you wait too long to buy these items, you may be too late — and no one wants to open an IOU receipt on Christmas morning because their gift was out of stock.

That’s why shopping early holiday sales (like Target’s Holiday Best events) is a smart move to check gifts off your wishlist. You’ll get Black Friday-worthy prices and make sure that all your loved ones get the gifts they really want this year. It’s a win-win.

In case you need another incentive to start shopping now, Target is also helping out with potential buyer’s remorse by offering price matching through Dec. 24. If you purchase a product from Target between these dates and the price drops later in the holiday season, Target will adjust the price for you — so you’re pretty much guaranteed the best deal.

Why we like it

Be honest: there’s someone in your home who is basically the designated housekeeper. Whether it’s your roommate, your dad, your partner, or yourself, help lighten the load with a robot vacuum. This powerful Shark model is WiFi-connected and Alexa-enabled, so you literally don’t have to lift a finger to get it going — just control your vac with your voice. It comes equipped with precise LiDAR navigation technology so you can target high-traffic areas and steer it clear of no-go zones, while AI Laser Navigation prevents it from bumping into objects.

Why we like it

Thanksgiving and other holiday meals would be a lot easier to prepare with a solid pressure cooker. This Instant Pot is up to the challenge — and it does way more than pressure cook. The air fryer lid can crisp up just about anything, and the normal lid allows you to use functions like pressure cook, slow cook, steam, sauté, and more. At just $100, Target’s Holiday Best pricing beats Amazon’s pre-Black Friday deal by an impressive $30.

Why we like them

They may not be the newest Apple headphones out there, but some stellar sound quality, effortless pairing, and a virtually unrivaled battery life of up to 40 hours per charge mean the Beats Solo³ can still hold their own. (A new all-time-low price of $100 doesn’t hurt, either.) Choose from matte black or a metallic rose gold.
