Why has Robin Padilla been quiet about ABS-CBN franchise renewal?
Action Star Robin Padilla, who is an ardent and loyal supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, has been silent on the issue of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
Last February, Padilla mentioned that the giant network should admit the black propaganda it produced during the 2016 elections.
“Napakagandang paglalahad ni senator Bong Go sa kung saan nanggaling si mayor PRRD at gaano kabigat ang atraso ng abscbn hindi lamang sa propesyonal na usapin kundi pinersonal ang kandidatura ni mayor isang black propaganda ang inilabas nila. Ito ay isang ganap sa eleksyon nong 2016 na maisusulat sa kasaysayan bilang isang aral na dapat mailibro.”
He even defended Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa against DJ Chacha, who suggested that the senator would resign because he was loyal to the president rather than the country.
“I know the man I portrayed him it was an honor portraying a war hero, he was the real probinsiyano policeman he is Cardo flesh and blood not only in the jungles of our deep provinces but in the jungles of our streets.”
Looking at Robin Padilla’s Instagram page, there are no signs of any support or reaction about ABS-CBN renewal franchise or about him being a Duterte supporter,
Robin Padilla was last seen at the February 24 of ABS-CBN hearing at the Senate with actor and co-Duterte supporter Philip Salvador.
The two are known for being avid supporters of the President who will do everything in their power to protect Duterte. In reality, in the run-up to the hearings, Robin made headlines for making a series of statements lambasting ABS-CBN.
In particular, he accused ABS-CBN of unfair labor practices and other abuses justifying calls for its closure or non-renewal or franchise. He also blasted artists who publicly advocate the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise.
“God is great!! para sa mga superstar ng abscbn at gma hinahamon ko kayo humarap ng live at ipagtanggol nyo ang mga network niyo. ilabas natin ang mga contract natin at ikumpara natin sa mga kasama natin sa trabaho sa taping at shooting,” Padilla wrote on his Instagram account.
