Angela Ken on how social media helps aspiring music artists
Tiktok star turned music artist Angela Ken shared her thoughts on how social media helps aspiring music artists.
During an exclusive interview, Ken highlighted how social media apps like Tiktok help artists showcase their talent.
My song touches the hearts of a lot of people.
“And, ‘yun po ‘yung isang napakagandang advantage ng social media. It can showcase a lot of different talents. It can inspire a lot of people.
Ken first began posting Tiktok challenges and covers on her account, which now has over 876,000 followers. After her social media stardom, she signed with Star Magic and is currently a member of Squad +. As for her music, Ken recently released her single Ako Naman Muna (English Version) under Star Music.
As for the song’s message Ako Naman Muna, Ken revealed that the song is about self-acceptance.
“You cannot give happiness to other people na talagang genuine. A 100% if you cannot make yourself happy by appreciating all your flaws and imperfections. Kasi, we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, so ‘yun rin po ‘yung gustong ipahiwatig ng kantang ako naman muna.”
Ken also listed her musical influences from artists such as Moira, Ben&Ben, and APO Hiking Society.
“I really look up to Ma’am Moira, 2018 pa lang po.
“‘Yung magandang melody po na naiisip ko po, is inspired by hers as well, to Ben&Ben, and even to Apo Hiking ‘yun po.”
