BGC Now Has Bike Repair Stations You Can Use for Free
(SPOT.ph) Bonifacio Global City is one of the most bike-friendly spots in Metro Manila. They have special bike lanes along your favorite retail stores and dining spots. And on weekends, some roads are even closed to traffic so that bikers can ride with ease. Here’s some good news for bikers: Your biking sessions in the area just got even better and worry-free with the installation of bike repair stations in key areas within the four-hectare mixed-use development.

- Avida Towers Verte (9th Avenue)
- International School Manila (38th Street)

Each bike repair station has an air pump with Scrader and Presta valves to match any type of bike wheel, a tire lever, one Phillips screwdriver, one flathead screwdriver, and a multi-tool with wrenches and screwdrivers of different shapes and sizes. As of writing, only one of the 10 bike repair stations is installed, while the rest are quickly being set up around BGC.
This project is made possible through BGC’s partnership with MoovrPH, which is touted as the country’s first-ever bike and electric scooter sharing app. It lets you rent a Personal Mobility Device anytime you need from several locations around the city.

You pay for your rental through the Moovr PH app (P15 for every 15 minutes for bikes an P50 for every 20 minutes for electric scooters), get your ride at a parking area near your place of origin within BGC, then drop off the Personal Mobility Device (PMD) at another parking area near your destination. All PMDs are equipped with GPS trackers and loud alarms that would go off when brought outside the designated service area. Rent is for a maximum of 24 hours, but e-scooters need to be returned to one of the hubs before the battery goes below 15%.
Moovr PH also recently added eight hubs to make the bike rental system more accessible to BGC residents, employees, and visitors. These new stations can be found along 5th Avenue, Rizal Drive, 30th Street, 26th Street, 26th Street Extension, Sundial Park, 11th Avenue, and Gallery Parkade. BGC also opened up an additional 5.5-kilometer stretch of dedicated PMD lanes within the city.
