On Friday, January 7, Miss Philippines Earth 2019, Janelle Tee sheds her former image and joins the group of Kylie Versoza and Cindy Miranda, entering the world of showbiz as sexy actresses.

She will be starring in the upcoming sexy psycho-thriller Kinsenas, Katapusan. During the film’s virtual media conference, Tee stressed that she is ready to take acting seriously.

“Super ready na akong maging serious na aktres. Gusto kong ma-break yung mold nang pagiging beauty queen. So kung anong genre man ‘yan, mapa-sexy, comedy, action, I really wanna be serious at this craft. I’m ready kung ano mang path o direction ang ibigay sa’kin nang Viva.”

Her reason for breaking out of it is to prove that she can more than just be a beauty queen.

“Alam mo naman, minsan kapag beauty queen parang nakakahon ka eh. Nakakahon ka sa ganitong role eh. Kailangan bestfriend ka ni ganito, maganda ka lang, gan’yan gan’yan. I really wanna be serious in this craft,” explained Tee.

The young artist thanked Versoza and Miranda for proving that beauty queens can also act. The former starred in The Housemaid, while the latter was launched via Nerisa.

“Thankful din ako with Kylie and Cindy that paved the way na beauty queens like us can be serious actresses as well,” she expressed.

Being new to the industry and competing with other sexy stars of Viva, Tee stressed that she has the advantage over others by being “multi-talented.”

“Being new and fresh is already an offering in itself sa audience. At the same time, gusto kong maging all-around na artista kasi na p’wede kang umarte, p’wede kang mag-host, p’wede kang sumayaw, lahat. So I think ‘yon ang panlaban natin, yung pagiging all-around,” she stated.

Apart from Tee, Kinsenas, Katapusan marks Ayanna Misola’s first lead role. She is joined by sexy stars Angela Morena and Jamilla Obispo. It will also include seasoned actors Joko Diaz and Kier Legaspi.

The movie is directed by GB Sampedro and will be streaming on Vivamax, February 4.
