Controversial content creator-turned-filmmaker Darryl Yap came to the rescue for Miss Q and A winner after the Kapamilya comedian-host shared on It’s Showtime that he has a friend who resorted to trolling to survive poverty.
Miss Q and A winner, Juliana Priscova-Segovia or Tyrone James Ortega, in real life, refuted the allegations hurled against him by netizens after Vice Ganda shared on It’s Showtime about a friend who became a troll out of necessity.
On April 26, during the Showtime SexyBabe segment of the Kapamilya noontime show, Vice Ganda asked a contestant about her views on bashing on social media.
The conversation led the comedian-host to share about a friend who resorted to trolling to survive poverty. Although the said ‘friend’ and never namedropped anybody, many netizens assumed that it was Ortega, Vice Ganda who was referring to.
Ortega is quick to deny the allegations to Yap, who shared a screenshot of their conversation on facebook.
“Ni isang beses wala sa kanya o mga kadikit nya ang hiningan ko ng gcash kahit singkong duling (Not once that I asked him or any of one of his close friends to send me money through GCash… not even a single penny),” he told the content creator.
There was an instance that Vice Ganda shared that the friend he was talking about used to ask their friends to send him GCash.
Ortega told Yap that he did everything he could by doing fb live and selling ready-to-wear clothes, just to meet both ends.
“Sigurado ako direk… never ako nanghingi sa kanya (I am certain, Direk…I never asked from him),” the pageant winner said.
Vice Ganda, however, never really said he, himself, was the one who asked money for, but he referred to an ‘unnamed friend’ only.
Ortega also clarified that he was never closed with Vice Ganda, to begin with.
“Nahihiya ako dahil alam ko na hindi naman kami ganon ka-close kaya ba’t ako hihingi (I’m ashamed to ask, because we’re not even that close as friends, to begin with… so why would I dare to ask for money).”
Yap also shared his piece of advice with Ortega, to his followers. “…wag ka nang magpapaapekto, iniisip nya na kalaban ka n’ya. You are the size of the enemy (don’t allow yourself to get affected. He thinks you are his enemy…you are the size of your enemy).”
Yap also told his talent that the whole team, including him and Senator Imee Marcos, got his back.
