Manila FAME Returns With the Trendiest Items in Local Art, Fashion, and Design
(SPOT.ph) With the pandemic still raging for more than a year now, e-commerce has taken over most of our consumer practices. Even buying art and supporting local artisans are now using the digital space, including Manila FAME—one of the country’s biggest trade shows. The crowd-drawing event organized by Center for International Trade Expositions and Mission has been on fameplus.com since October 2020. And in celebration of this milestone, FAME+ Market Days is showcasing the country’s vibrant design industry from October 20 to 22 online.

Here’s what you should know about this Manila FAME event:
“FAME+ Market Days marks the anniversary of the launch of fameplus.com to adapt the facilitation of trade in the digital space. We launched FAME+, to serve as a digital sourcing and storytelling platform for the home, fashion and lifestyle sectors. To date, FAME+ has onboarded close to 300 exhibitors and more than 1,200 buyers. Top countries that visit FAME+ are Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, and the United States,” shared CITEM Executive Director, Pauline Suaco-Juan.
FAME+ Market Days is also bringing back Design Commune, an annual exhibit that serves as Manila FAME’s centerpiece. For this year, the theme is “Light the Way,” which puts the spotlight on art, homeware, furniture, jewelry, and other lifestyle products that exude the meaning of the Filipino word “maaliwalas.”
Aside from giving you a three-day opportunity to “Add to Cart” items from Manila FAME’s 3,000-plus catalogue, you can also join digital events and webinars that focus on the growth of MSMEs in the home fashion and lifestyle sector. The first day features speakers from global fashion industry authority Vogue Business and New York-based trend forecasting agency Fashion Snoops. The second day takes a look on the significance of sustainability in our local ars and crafs. Some of the speakers include entrepreneur and artist Tony Gonzales; Creative Definitions founder and Philippine cotton advocate Mike Claparols; and Carlo Delantar, social entrepreneur and founder of Altum Concepts, a design studio focusing on the circular economy.
FAME+ Market Days is live from October 20 to 22 through fameplus.com. To register for the events, log on to hopin.com.
