(SPOT.ph) You know a song is absolute fire when a literal Olympian just has to use it while training. Take the latest hit from Maris Racal, for example! The queen dropped the anti-marupok anthem “Ate Sandali” in June—and by July, it had made it to what looks to be a training session of Olympic skater Michael Martinez. The athlete dropped a short clip on social media of him gliding gracefully across the ice with “Ate Sandali” blasting in the background.

That was miles ahead of how we looked while rocking out to this song in our bedrooms. Granted, the Filipino figure skater is hard at work training in Russia for the 2022 Winter Olympics, so expect no less! We bet this was just a warm-up for him. Though wouldn’t it be cool if he actually does get to use this song during the Winter Games?

Martinez captioned the clip on Tiktok with a sweet and short message of support for Maris Racal and her new song. While on Instagram, he went with a cheeky “When you’re marupok.” The skater did mention in 2018 that his celebrity crush was Maris Racal! And it looks like he hasn’t stopped supporting her since.

Speaking of support, Martinez’s road to Olympic gold continues! The figure skater was our sole representative to the 2014 Winter Olympics and one of two reps to the 2018 Winter Olympics. Martinez also has the title of being the first figure skater from Southeast Asia to compete in the Olympics. Now, Martinez is working his way to the 2020 Winter Games in China! He and his team set up a Go Fund Me page to help with financing their goal as they have no sponsors. Looks like it’s time for us to show the same support he’s showing Racal.
