Morissette Amon recalled challenges of faith she faced in her career during the pandemic

On October 26, Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon recalled the challenges of faith she faced during her career. 

During the media conference for Sony Philippines’ launch of the newest Christian Label, WATERWALK RECORDS, Morisette shared her personal experience in her career when things got “tricky” in her life.

“I’ve been in the industry for about ten years in the industry. Since even before The Voice, I was already with TV5, and I’ve been out there. But it’s only been a couple of years ago that I really decided to accept Jesus in my heart. 

“And it was during those times na things got super tricky in my life. Just very personal things. It was literally around those times. Kaya, I always tell people na hindi porket you accept Jesus in your heart, things are going to get easier. For me, it was really a challenge. He really tested my faith. But at the same time, I just literally decided to walk in faith.”

She then detailed the changes she made in her career, especially during the pandemic. 

“Even in this pandemic, I decided to go into songwriting, as well, because there were no live shows. I took that as an opportunity to grow my artistry, as well. 

“Sakto lang din because of my ten years in the industry of being a singer, performer, now venturing into songwriting and producing.”

Earlier, Morissette encountered personal family issues that impacted her ability to perform resulting in her controversial walkout in 2019.

As for her single, Walterwalk, Morissette expressed excitement over the first song released from Sony Philippine’s new Christian music label during the pandemic.

“I’m very excited na for this song na I will be able to, and with Waterwalk, I’ll be able to really share lang din my journey as a Christian, kahit couple of years pa lang. 

“A lot of people /just need to hear and be reminded of all his grace and all of the miracles he’s made, especially during the pandemic.”

Waterwalk is the first of twelve songs out of the Christian music label they plan to release in the coming months. Walterwalk Records released Morisette’s single on October 28.
