Ogie Diaz shares how he fight misinformation among his friends

Talent manager-host-comedian and known Kakampink Ogie Diaz shared how he’s convincing his friends to stop spreading fake news and misinformation.

In a facebook post, Ogie shared a story on how he tried to educate and convince one of his friends to stop disinformation.

He said he has no problem with people having different political choices, but the problem arises from knowingly and willingly spreading fake news.

“Wala tayong problema. Igagalang ko ang choice mo, pero sana, nagre-research ka tungkol sa mga kandidato. Anim na taon yung ipagkakatiwala mo sa kanila. Wag yung kuda ka nang kuda, pero walang basis yung rant mo. Nakiki-join ka pa sa mga fake news.

He also shared that he’s not dictating anybody’s right to post anything on social media.

But they should have the initiative to put them down if they realize that they’re spreading wrong information.

“Hindi kita dinidiktahan. Desisyon mo yan. I-delete mo dahil na-realize mong mali ka, otherwise, panindigan mo yan.”

Ogie also advised his friend to research the candidates because it’s the future of the country and the children are at stake for the next 6 years.

“Magre-research ka tungkol sa achievement ng bawat kandidato. Isipin mo na lang yung future ng inaanak ko sa kamay ng susunod na Pangulo.

“Tingnan mo, hanggang ngayon, nababalitaan ko, kung kani-kanino ka nang common friends natin ikaw umuutang. Ni hindi mo nga nababayaran, kung makapambastos ka kay VP Leni, parang wala kang nanay, wala kang kapatid na babae, wala kang misis at wala kang anak na babae.”

In the end, Ogie was able to make his friend realize that spreading fake news and misinformation is wrong and vowed not to commit the same mistake again.

“Sorry, Ogs, hindi na mauulit. Oo nga, na-realize ko nga. Sorry.”

Ogie is one of the most hardworking Kakampink volunteer artists. He’s one of the regular hosts in most of VP Leni and Sen. Kiko’s people’s rallies together with his partner Mama Loi.
