Kapuso actress Katrina Halili admitted on Wednesday, January 12, that her hands were paralyzed during the first few months of their locked-in taping for Prima Donnas Book 2.

She experienced it for almost a month and a half, but to her, the show must go on.

“Meron akong pinagdaanan actually. Noong mga unang taping ko mga one and a half month, parang nag-start ako mag-shoot na parang… ewan ko kung mapapansin niyo laging nakataas ang kamay ko sa mga shoot namin,” she said during the show’s virtual media conference.

Apparently, to continue taping her scenes, the actress took pain relievers for her hands just to not disrupt the production of the series.

“Tiniis ko nalang po talaga kasi siyempre ayoko din mag-cause ng problema sa Prima Donnas. Ayokong mag-stop ng taping kasi alam ko ang dami ko pong kukunan,” explained the actress.

But when it was announced that they would continue their locked-in taping, Halili sought permission to have her hands checked in a hospital. She took MRI and EMG tests to see what the problem was. It was found out that she had something in her neck blocking the nerves going to her hands.

“Nagpa-check up po ako, nagpa-MRI po ako and EMG. Dito sa neck ko yung nagka-problem. Tapos connected sa nerves ko so binigyan lang po ako ng gamot,” she revealed.

The actress did not reveal the medication she took but is now feeling well as she finished taking her medicine earlier in December of last year.

“Actually sa ngayon wala na po akong maintenance. Okay na po ako. Noong December natapos na po yung gamot ko so wala na, okay na po.”

Halili also thanked her cast members for taking care of her while she was in that state.

“Thank God at salamat sa cast na inalagaan din po ako, kay Ms. Chanda, si Ms. Aiko, thank you po.”

Apart from an alarming experience while locked-in, Halili was also concerned about her daughter being left alone while she was working.

“Wala naman po akong mas’yadong ano. S’yempre nalungkot lang po ako dahil s’yempre medyo matagal din yung locked-in and walang kasama yung anak ko. Pero okay naman,” she expressed.

Prima Donnas Book 2 will begin airing on January 24, with a recap occurring on 17-21 of the same month.
