WFC is the highest stakes food competition globally as Australians, and overseas foodie enthusiasts challenge themselves as they pursue their passions on the Australian stage.
The Australian debut of this three-day live culinary event will see some of the country’s most passionate home chefs battling out in seven mouth-watering categories, namely Seafood, BBQ, Burgers, Chicken, Beef, Vegan and Dessert.
The BBQ, Seafood, and Dessert Championship categories will take centre stage in the Aussie qualifying competitions. The winners of these three categories from both Sydney and Melbourne will receive the most sought after Golden Tickets to go head-to-head with the world’s best home chefs at the 2022 World Food Championships competition in Dallas, Texas in the US.
“The pandemic has brought about a rise in home cooking and leisure baking. With many passionate home chefs entering, there is more than just a prize and ‘cooking credibility’ on the line. With over 350 passionate bakers, barbecue enthusiasts and hopeful chefs having entered the World Food Championships in Australia, we may find a new generation of cooking stars at the competitions,” said Belinda Markoski, Director of Partnerships GL Exhibitions and World Food Championships Australia.
For those who want to observe rather than compete, the World Food Championships are set to be a three-day foodie-heaven, with the live competition being held during the Cake, Bake and Sweets Show and Love Cooking Live Show in Melbourne and Sydney. Your one ticket gains access to all the action.
With the chance to compete for the World Food Championship titles, it is time for our true-blue kitchen heroes to prove that not everything is bigger and better in Texas.
Entries for both cities’ qualifying competitions are open now.
