YCK Laneways puts alfresco dining on the menu. Long lunches & late nights

Sydney’s newest nightlife precinct, YCK Laneways, is putting the CBD back on the map with a ONE-DAY-ONLY event, Long Lunches & Late Nights, as part of Sydney’s Open for Lunch revitalisation initiative hosted on Friday 3 December.

After a series of sought-after events following its highly successful block party debut, YCK is winding back the clock and putting alfresco dining on the menu for the ultimate long lunch at your favourite small bars, promising leisurely fun that will carry you seamlessly from day to night.

See Barrack Street transformed, thanks to the team at Prince of York, who will be unpacking the white linen for a long lunch of epic proportions. Seating 125 people across two seatings at one of Sydney’s most recognisable addresses, lunch goers can expect a decadent modern-Australian feast with a Japanese twist, along with beer, wine, cocktails and live entertainment to match.

Neighbouring YCK bars will also take part in the alfresco action with smaller, more intimate laneway lunches that will take to the streets for the one-off event – like The Barber Shop’s Gin Garden Long Lunch, and a Mexican-inspired feast from the team behind Esteban. If three-courses whets your appetite, Since I Left You (SILY) have you covered with A Taste of Kent Street with each course served by a nearby restaurant.

Plus, if that wasn’t enough to get the party started, Sydneysiders can continue the celebrations after dark with a jam-packed live music program at participating YCK bars, including Sammy Jnr, Spawn Point, Stitch Bar, The Swinging Cat, The Lobo, Uncle Mings, Grandma’s Bar and Redoak Boutique Beer Cafe.

Of the event, Vice President of YCK Laneways and President of the Independent Bars Association Karl Schlothauer said: “We are beyond excited to welcome Sydney back to YCK Laneways with Long Lunches & Late Nights.”

“As a collective, there’s nothing we love more than creating unique experiences that inspire Sydneysiders to rediscover their city. So, we encourage you to book your spot at the table and continue your night soaking up the good tunes, great drinks and energetic atmosphere of one of Sydney’s liveliest strips.”

Representing the buzzing precinct between Town Hall and Wynyard, YCK Laneways is a consortium of independently operated retail, hospitality, corporate and entertainment businesses around York, Clarence and Kent Streets. Hosted for one-day only, Long Lunches & Late Nights includes a range of free and ticketed events, and with numbers for select events limited, bookings are strongly recommended to secure your spot.
