This Rainbow Pastel-Colored Halo-Halo Tastes Just Like Childhood

Kuya J has always been known for nailing Filipino favorites like the Crispy Pata, Grilled Scallops, Kare-Kare, Beef Caldereta, and Bulalo, but did you know they have really Filipino dessert too? They’re known for their delicious halo-halo line that includes the Halo-Halo Espesyal and the Ube Halo-Halo. Now, they’re adding two new flavors: Rainbow Halo-Halo Espesyal and the Chocolate Halo-Halo Espesyal.

The Rainbow Halo-Halo Espesyal certainly feels nostalgic with all the flavors you’re getting in each spoonful! This pastel-hued dessert has pink banana, blue bubblegum, yellow melon, and white vanilla. Combine it all together and you get a dessert that tastes sweet as candy!

What would halo-halo be without all the ingredients? The Rainbow Halo-Halo Espesyal has tropical jelly for its sinkers and marshmallows and rainbow sprinkles for its toppings.

If you’d rather have chocolate instead, there’s the Chocolate Halo-Halo Espesyal which has chunks of brownies, chocolate fudge, cashews to give it a bit of crunch, toasted marshmallows, and sprinkles. This dessert is made for serious chocolate fans!

For those who haven’t tried Kuya J’s Halo-Halo Espesyal before, you should expect that the texture will resemble Korean bingsu! The shaved ice is a lot finer than your typical halo-halo and when it melts, it turns this Pinoy summer snack into a milkshake-like treat.

Kuya J’s Rainbow Halo-Halo Espesyal and Chocolate Halo-Halo Espesyal costs P130 (limited time offer).
