5 LGUs in CAR remain COVID-19 moderate risk areas
BAGUIO CITY, July 1(PIA)- – Five local government units(LGUs) in the Cordillera Region are still classified as moderate risk areas of COVID 19 while two LGUS are categorized as low-risk areas and placed under moderate community quarantine(MGCQ) from July 1 to 15.
President Rodrigo Duterte announced last night the classification of community quarantine that will be imposed in provinces, highly urbanized cities and independent component cities in the country in the next 15 days.
For CAR, Benguet province is reverted under general community quarantine (GCQ) from MGCQ.
The provinces of Abra, Ifugao and Kalinga and the City of Baguio are placed under MGCQ with strict local action while the provinces of Apayao and Mountain Province are grouped under MGCQ- low risk.
Under Resolution No. 48 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, risk classification of provinces, highly urbanized cities and independent component cities is based on case doubling time and critical care utilization rate.
Areas classified as high-risk areas are placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine or Modified ECQ while moderate risk areas are placed under GCQ or Modified GCQ with modifiers such as strict local action.
Low risk areas are put under MGCQ.
Residents in all levels of community quarantine are reminded to stay home or go out of their homes only for essential purposes, and to always follow minimum health standards such as wearing face mask, and observing physical distancing, proper cough etiquette and proper hand washing .
