Cagayan has 2 new COVID-19 positive cases
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 28 (PIA) – – The Department of Health (DOH) region 2 has confirmed two new positive cases of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) today.
Dr. Leticia Cabrera, chief Local Health Support Division, said both of the cases today are from Cagayan province.
She said Patient 76 is a 66-year-old female from Amulung town. She has a travel history in Antipolo, Rizal and traveled back to her hometown last June 25.
Upon arrival, the patient was under the care of the quarantine facility of the Local Government Units (LGU). On the same day of her arrival, a swab specimen sample was taken from her which turned positive today.
Patient 77, on the other hand, is a 30-year-old female from Baggao town. She is an Overseas Filipino Worker from Dubai. She arrived in the country last June 19 and in her hometown last June 24.
“She was also obliged to undergo quarantine and swab testing which turned positive for COVID-19,” Cabrera said.
Both of the patient are asymptomatic but they will be transferred to Cagayan Valley Medical Center for appropriate medical treatment.
She also said officials are now conducting contact tracing of the possible close contacts of the two newly recorded COVID-19 patients.
As of now, Cagayan Valley region already has 77 COVID-19 cases in which 33 have fully recovered from the disease, nine clinically recovered, 34 currently admitted, and one death. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
