Lagawe dad puts barangay on  lockdown; temporarily bans travel to selected areas 

 

LAGAWE, Ifugao, July 18 (PIA) – – Mayor Martin Habawel, Jr ordered  the  lockdown  of  an urban barangay in this municipality for 72 hours   for public health and safety and to facilitate  efficient contact tracing of those who  may have contact with  the  newest COVID-19 patient  in the province. 

Moreover, travel to any part of Metro Manila, Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet is strictly prohibited from July 19 to 21, 2020 pending formulation of a policy on the matter. These areas have increasing cases of COVID-19.

The seventh COVID-19 confirmed case in the province and Lagawe’s second case is a 27 years old male from Poblacion North who reportedly has travel history to Metro Manila.

“Movement of persons to, from and within Poblacion North particularly in the vicinity of Pukung, Barracks/Camp Col. Joaquin Dunuan, Kitikit, Dullagan and Yakal Extension is highly restricted,” the mayor stated in his advisory.  

Habawel advised all persons who have close contact to the COVID-19 patient to report personally to the Municipal Health Office, Municipal Police Station and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office or through the hotlines of the concerned offices to hasten contact  tracing, testing and quarantine measures.

Aside from the temporary restriction of travel to Metro Manila, Baguio and La Trinidad, Habawel  earlier issued an advisory that travel to and from the province of Isabela, which has rising COVID-19 case,  is restricted to urgent and imperative medical purposes only. The municipal local government of Lagawe will prohibit the entry, re-entry of people coming from or have travelled to said province. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
