Marawi leaders thank PRRD, TFBM for Marawi rehab efforts

MARAWI CITY, July 19 – The government, through the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), has earned praises from local leaders here for its commitment in fast-tracking the Islamic City’s rehabilitation.

Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra expressed his gratitude to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as well as TFBM Chairperson Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario for the government’s unwavering efforts in hastening the war-torn city’s rebuilding process.

He also thanked the task force’s implementing agencies for the gradual restoration of Marawi City’s glory.

“Because of the support of the national government led by our President, through the TFBM, we are seeing a new light that will illuminate the minds of our people,” Mayor Gandamra said.

For his part, Sultanate League of the Philippines Chairman Sultan Nasser Sampaco also thanked the Duterte administration for its ceaseless support in assisting the city get back on its feet through various programs being implemented by the TFBM and its partner-organizations.

“We thank President Rodrigo Duterte for his continuous commitment to rehabilitate our beloved Marawi City,” the sultan said.

Secretary Del Rosario on Wednesday flew to Marawi City for a two-day inspection of ongoing projects and groundbreaking of several projects within the most affected area or “ground zero,” including the energization of MAA’s Sectors 1 and 2.

The TFBM chairman likewise spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Marawi City Central Fire Station as well as a four-story school building that houses 20 classrooms.

Secretary Del Rosario also graced a ceremonial ritual with members of the Marawi Sultanate League for the reconstruction of the Dansalan Ali Bato Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the country that was destroyed during the 2017 siege.

“Rest assured that the TFBM is always here, committed to fulfilling President Duterte’s order to complete the rehabilitation by December 2021,” Secretary Del Rosario said.

“Together with the implementing agencies, the TFBM will work double time in completing the projects meant to rebuild our beloved Marawi City,” he added. (DHSUD)
