No more COVID-19-positive cops in CagVal
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 3 (PIA) – – Police Brigadier General Angelito Casimiro said there are no more active policemen in Cagayan Valley who are afflicted with the COVID-19.
Casimiro said the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Cagayan Valley continue its vigilance to prevent the infection of its police force from the dreaded COVID-19 disease.
“So far, we have no more COVID-19 positive cases in our police force in Cagayan Valley and this was prevented due to our immediate action of our suspected patients,” he said during his recent visit to the province.
Casimiro, however, admitted that at least 26 policemen were found to be COVID-19 positive in the past due to their role as frontliners in various checkpoint areas.
“Our policemen are also vulnerable to the COVID-19 disease but they were already treated after undergoing the required quarantine period and other health protocols,” he said.
Casimiro said all COVID-19 health protocols will also be done to their students of their training schools in Cauayan City and in Tuguegarao City including the police and civilian instructors before the resumption of their schooling.
“We are grateful for our policemen who are in the frontlines. Rest assured of our support and assistance but take all the necessary precautions and not to be complacent,” he said. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
