ROFs, LSIs on strict quarantine in Dumaguete City

DUMAGUETE CITY, July 14 (PIA) — A total of 125 persons under monitoring (PUMs) including returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) are now on strict quarantine.

Of the total PUMs, 52 are in designated hotel facilities of whom eight are Filipino students who returned from Japan, 24 are in the community isolation center while 41 are on home quarantine or in barangay isolation facilities.

The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) reported yesterday that none of the 125 PUMs examined by the city health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI).

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sara Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, chair if city’s IATF-EID, that 13 PUMs were released yesterday after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine in the different isolation facilities.

They have been cleared to go back to their respective families.

For today, six PUMs including four ROFs from the United States, Bahrain, and Dubai and two Locally Stranded Individuals from Bacolod City are now placed under strict quarantine.

The city government has accepted three additional PUMs with complete documents which include a medical representative from Mandaue City, one PGI doctor from Cebu City, and one OFW from Singapore. (jct/PIA Negros Oriental with reports from CPIO Dems Demecillo)
