Barcelona new boy Yusuf Demir determined to stick with Koeman’s senior stars
Ambitious Barcelona new boy Yusuf Demir has declared his early weeks have been “a dream come true” and he’s determined to “stay with the first team”.
Demir, 18, last month inked a season-long-loan switch – with a €10 million permanent option – to Barcelona B from Rapid Vienna. International exertions and injury absences, however, have seen the Austria winger play in all three pre-season friendlies for the seniors, netting for the first time in Saturday’s 3-0 victory at Stuttgart.
“I am very thankful for the opportunity that Barca has given me,” Demir told Mundo Deportivo. The feeling of playing here is incredible.
“It’s a dream come true. I hope to stay with the first team, I am very happy.”
The teenager will next hope to play in Wednesday’s run-out versus RB Salzburg.
