Banana in hand, a delicate robot learned how to peel
Researchers from the University of Tokyo taught a robot how to peel bananas. The method used to achieve this is called “deep imitation learning.”
It’s meant to teach machines how to become more human in the way they carry out tasks, with the long term goal of giving robots the skills they need to utilize a more delicate touch.
