Netflix drops a corny, heartwarming trailer for the holiday rom-com ‘Single All the Way’
First off, it needs to be said: There’s nothing wrong with being single, even during the holidays.
This new Netflix trailer for Single All the Way introduces us to Peter (Michael Urie), a perpetually single city-dweller who dreads heading home for the holidays. He loves his family, but they’re pushy as hell about getting Peter coupled up. To keep the prying questions at bay, Peter convinces his pal Nick (Philemon Chambers) to join him on the trip, where they’ll pose as a couple.
This trailer doesn’t leave much to the imagination in terms of where the story goes, but that’s a rom-com for ya. It becomes increasingly clear to Peter’s family that he and Nick are an ideal match. But Peter frets about the possibility, and what it might mean for his friendship if he and Nick couple up. There’s also the matter of a blind date with a cute local boy; the chemistry between him and Peter seems to simmer.
This being a holiday rom-com, there’s presumably some kind of happy ending in store for everyone involved. And if all that isn’t enough to lure you in, it’s worth noting that the legendary, forever-amazing Jennifer Coolidge is here playing Peter’s Aunt Nancy. Lots to like. Single All the Way comes to Netflix on Dec. 2.
